Presence
The body is never only a form. A gaze, a posture, a gesture or simply the way someone holds themselves can be enough to keep the person present in the image, even when the face is not shown.
The body, skin and gestures, for what they can reveal of intimacy, fragility and sensuality, without ever separating them from the person who chooses to be seen.
PortfolioProject introduction
Relief 33 explores the body through closeness, presence and the way each person chooses to be seen. I am interested in what light, posture, gesture or detail can reveal. Each encounter brings something different and naturally influences the images that emerge from it.
The body at the heart of the project
Whether covered or revealed, still or in motion, the body remains living matter. Skin, marks, textures, folds and natural volumes remain part of the image. Even when the framing becomes very close, the detail stays connected to the person being photographed.
Relief 33
I am particularly drawn to presence, matter and intimacy. They can appear separately or come together within the same image, depending on the person, the light and what catches my eye.
The body is never only a form. A gaze, a posture, a gesture or simply the way someone holds themselves can be enough to keep the person present in the image, even when the face is not shown.
Skin, textures, natural volumes and light become photographic matter. Light is not used to correct the body, but to reveal its reliefs.
Intimacy does not necessarily come from nudity. It can come from a gaze, a gesture, closeness or simply from the way a person allows themselves to be observed. Sensuality can be part of the image when it remains natural and connected to the person.
Photographs
Each shoot reveals something different. A gaze, a posture, light, closeness or a detail can become the starting point of an image. The portfolio brings together a selection of these encounters and the images that emerged from them.
Collaboration
I do not expect someone to simply execute a sequence of poses, but to actively take part in the shoot through the way they move, position themselves and contribute ideas. On my side, I observe, follow the light and whatever catches my eye. I may suggest an idea or offer some guidance when something deserves to be adjusted or explored further. The shoot evolves naturally from what each of us brings.
Take part
I continue to develop Relief 33 through new encounters and new ways of photographing the body. Each person can bring a different sensitivity, story and direction to the project.
